Honey, a hoary bat, had a
really rough couple of
days before being found
by a good Samaritan. She
had su昀昀ered a severe
wing break and wound up
grounded in a 昀椀eld. She
was likely trapped on the
ground for several days
before being found.

Unfortunately, Honey’s injured wing resulted in her no longer being able to 昀氀y.
She is now a permanent resident and will receive life}me care with us.

On arrival, Honey was in
terrible shape. She was
emaciated, dehydrated,
and in immense pain because of her broken wing. Pain medica}on was quickly administered, as well as
warmed 昀氀uid injec}ons, an}bio}cs and hydrolyzed protein to help revitalize her
as quickly as possible. Within a few hours, Honey appeared to be an en}rely new
bat. She went from defeated and terri昀椀ed, to hopeful and curious, peering
around her enclosure and cha琀琀ering at caregivers.
